Antalya lies on the southern mediterranean coast of Turkey and is famous for its beautiful sandy beach with a view to the Taurus mountains. First records of the town are recorded as far back as 200 BC, and there are still well-preserved monuments dating back to the Roman times. Today Antalya is a combination of the modern and the ancient, the city features relics and ruins of ancient times including Emperor Hadrian's Gate, a rich museum covering all kinds of artifacts dating back to neolithic ages, historical baths and fine mosques. In the harbour part of the city there are plenty of sight-seeing and shopping opportunities. In 2009 this antique part of town is closed to traffic for the comfort of tourists. Most of the resorts lie in the Lara beach region, at an equal distance of 15 kms to both city center and to Antalya airport. Tourbox head office is also very close to that area. Price range given below is daily lowest and highest rates for 2010 summer season (from April till late October) for one person sharing a standard double room. For ex. if the range is 50-120 eur/pp/pn, it means it is usually 50 eur/pp/pn in April or November (i.e.100 eur for 2 people in a room) and 120 eur/pp/pn in July & August. June prices could be 70-100 eur/pp/pn. Prices are always lower between November and late March except on special occasions like Christmas & New Year.
