Until recently, it wasn't easy to get a cheap flight from the UK, direct to Antalya Airport in Turkey. Things are improving though for would-be holidaymakers from the UK, who wanted to try a holiday in Mediterranean Turkey, but have previouly been held back because of the scarcity of scheduled flights.

In June 2005, Turkish Airlines announced a new service departing from London's Stansted Airport, departing once a week, each Friday, until November when the flights increase from twice a week, for visitors wanting to take advantage of Antalya's mild winter climate.
